Hello Friends,

I am excited to share with you my new E-Book The Very Real Connection Between AD[H]D + Eating Disorders, which will be released this Fall. The book is a mix of both my own personal story and journey along with published research I uncovered while doing my own deep dive on the topic of AD[H]D and eating disorders.

After I was diagnosed with AD[H]D at the age of 35, I just knew there was a connection between my decades long experience with an eating disorder and this new diagnosis. While I was already well established on my recovery journey, I still wanted to understand myself and my experience better. Learning about my Neurodivergent brain and it’s impact on my internal and world was like that missing link to really help me deepen my understanding of my nervous system, emotionality, and history experiencing an eating disorder.

The research that I uncovered and will share with you was very essential in providing some major SHAME BUSTING. No longer did I feel it necessary to continue to carry the heavy burden of feeling like there was something inherently wrong with me. The eating disorder did not manifest because I was a bad person or did something wrong. We all have complex systems, mine was just trying to survive and keep me safe using a strategy that long term, had major repercussions. The research allowed me to understand not only my present day self but also my younger self and her struggles. Let me tell you, do I ever have so much compassion for her today. I know she was doing her absolute best navigating a world without the language and tools she needed to make sense of her internal and external world.

I hope by sharing this E-BOOK we can start to really look at the intersection of Neurodivergence and eating disorders, understanding how the symptoms of both, impact and exasperate the experience of the other. As well, I hope this provides some clear and solid evidence as to why clinicians should be screening for Neurodivergent conditions like AD[H]D and Autism when presented with a youth struggling with disordered eating or a full blown eating disorder. Early detection and interventions can help ensure youth don’t have to struggle for as long as I did. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

All sales are final. Instructions on how you will access the E-BOOK are in the downloaded file available after purchase.

Warmly,

Candace
